Cape Leveque to Bedunburra

Hi
Has any one travelled from Cape Leveque to Bedunburra .
Please advise conditions and cautions.

We go to Cape Leveque every year and have found the road to be from good to dangerous. Take care and watch out for soft bulldust like patches and wash aways. I assume that you are not intending to take a caravan because they are not allowed. If you have a van, try phoning Middle Lagoon, they may allow them.

When we were at Middle Lagoon in 2005 there were several vans parked there on the hill.

caravans - not allowed? or not recommended?

I don't recall any signs... the roads into Kooljaman and Lombadina probably would be hard work, but normal recommendations about letting tyres down and it would probably be doable with minimal fuss.

W're heading to the Cape Lveque, Middle lagoon, Barn Hll and Cape Keraudren during July August this year. Can you suggest what type of fishing we should expect...and any crabs around at that time. W're from QLD so I'm trying to get prepared. i believe it will be too cold for Barra..but what about jack and pelagics. What can you use to catch crabs (manna and muddies) in WA? I'll have a 3.6m tinny and 15hp. Woud appreciate any help you can give. Bundy

I'd love to get to Cape Leveque this June/July.
Travelling with a small group to Broome, and that's where everyone is going to split up.
My problem is wondering how my Suzuki Vitara and tiny Suzuki modified camper trailer would handle the terrain.
Doesn't bother me if it takes all day to get there as I'm not on any schedules.
Trailer has Suzi 4x4 suspension, tracks inline to the Vitara, but all tyres are just Toyo M/S..thin walls. Can't afford to buy AT's. But I am carrying 4 spares.
So, question is...am I risking and expecting too much ?

Personally I see nothing wrong with the idea. Not sure how far you have travelled to get to Broome etc. I found the road to CL to be relatively easy (in 2005) compared to say the Tanami or Simpson - both having different challenges.

There was very little soft stuff or long distances of corrugations.

I don't reckon you'll have a problem. The toughest bit for me was that once there I wandered of to the beach track to head off to a creek for fishing. The sand was very soft and requires the tyres to be running at around 18 psi.
