Does anyone know about sources of Rescue Tape?

I saw Rescue Tape demonstrated at the Caravan and Outdoors show a week ago and wished I had bought some. The reps at the site above, have not responded to my enquiry which is poor business.

Do you trendsetters know where it can be bought retail?

No, I don't have an interest apart from who may stock it.

Not sure where it comes from John but when i saw it at the show i thought a roll of it in the glovebox could be really handy one day so invested in a roll for 20 bucks.

Mark, he knew how to charge. Guess you have seen the price in the US? Under $10US a roll.

Jaycar Self Amalgamating Tape

X-Treme Tape

A search on Google for Self Amalgamating Tape also brought up the following, they may be of some help to you Links

I don't think the Jaycar Self Amalgamting tape is even close to Rescue Tape in terms of strength. Whenever I tape up electrical stuff I always confuse the Self Amalgamting tape with standard electrical tape because it looks the same.

Rescue tape is silicon based....i saw it at the stand in Brisbane and should have bought some.

I'd be interested in where to get the stuff from.

X-Treme Tape looks pretty near it but the claims aren't as great. I agree with Ben, I have some of the self amalgamating tape and it doesn't come close.

It is available from the US at under $10US per rolll but the charge to get smaller quantities is pretty high for pack and post.

Claims it withstands pressures of up to 700psi and operates in Temps -60C to +200C

I found it in their electrical dept.

Bias Boating now sell them. It's not yet listed on their website but their stores should now stock them. It's $14.95 per roll.

Barry, 'God, look at the time! My wife will kill me!' is the translation. There are some nice little Latin quote sites about the net. I previously had a tag that said "in times gone past, children like you would be left to die on windswept crags" of course in Latin. It could have applied to Corey! Google will find them, just copy and paste.

I meant to get back to the stand and get some but something else took my eye. I think there are more and more uses for it as I look at the info. I only saw orange coloured at the show, but there are lots of other colours I have seen. Good for covering some tool handles.

Hi John
Rescue tape should be stocked by your local Opposite Lock store. If they have none in stock they should be able to get some in. If this fails try a marine store at one of the marinas.
