I had a similar problem, Had it repaired under warranty. After two trips to the work shop. Works like a new one now.

Normally from low voltage. I find when running through the standard lighter socket without engine running on wife's car the fridge will fire up but only last a few minutes then cut out and light will flash, when I start the engine it will resume normal operation so to me concludes that the wiring from the original lighter socket is to small to carry a decent power supply, if running from socket in prado connected straight to battery I have no problems. There is also an issue on some of them with some thing that they pull out and replace (fuse or somthing) and solves the problem. No doubt some one will fill you in on what this part is called. Is a known common problem with the waeco's. Regards Steve M

Yep - insufficient voltage (as the others have said) is the usual culprit - once that is remedied, the problem may persist in hot weather - if so, you'll need a warranty repair - my CF60 (same beast, just taller) has recently been done by a dealer via negotiations with Waeco - new circuit board fitted , which carries the offending poly fuse I'm told (the earlier faulty fuses didn't like hot weather, and would cause the false fault indication and following malfunction.

Thanks everyone for their feedback. I have not responded until now as we have been away in our van for the Labor Day long weekend here in Brisbane.

I thought that the one red light warning was to do with a low power alert but thought that I would seek the view of others.

Over the weekend I noticed that the problem only raised it's head when after a few hours on the 2nd battery in the Patrol that it would start up. I would have tested the battery but my multi meter decided to give up the ghost just when it was going to be useful.

I will also check out the internal fuse to see if that might be the problem. My CF50 is one of the first to come on the market and has preformed really well over the past six years.
