Spare wheel for GU

Submitted: Friday, Jul 04, 2003 at 12:13

Groove

Hi all,
I have called every 4x4 wrecker and 4x4 shop in Sydney looking for an extra wheel for my GU patrol. I am after the standard 16inch steel rim that came with the car. Its a 2000 model ST.

Nissan want about $350 bucks for one. Does anyone have any ides where else to try.

Cheers
Groove

PS I have 5 Chrome wheels in excellent condition off a 91 Pajero if anyone is looking.

Groove,

I picked up three for my trailer by checking around the tyre shops. They sometimes have them left when people buy mags.

I paid about $120 for wheel and a second hand tyre. It did take a bit of looking and some patience. Also watch teh whle in the wheel they vary in shape

Hi Groove
About 12 months ago Nissan was running a special where they were giving alloy wheels with ST model GUs. On the off chance I went to the local dealer (lennock motors in Canberra) and bought 4 GU steel rims for $400. Just keep you eye out for when they are running specials again and you will probably pick up a couple cheap.
I told one bloke at a swap meet where he could put his - wouldn't separate the 5 he had but still wanted $1200 with 3/4 worn HTs.
