Dunco (NSW) replied:

G'day,

Once I have mine rolled out and before I tighten the arms up, I tension it by turning the lever to close and roll the awning so it is tensioned up some, then I pull down on the awning and tighten the arm off

This way the awning finishes over the barrel if you get my drift...and by doing this water cannot fill the awning either.

This is the correct method of doing it...very hard to put in words as you can see, but try to ROLL barrel of the awning away from the van.

Hi,

What Dunco has said should do the trick.

For some hints on using your awning check here :http://www.theawningman.com.au/producttips.html
