My serious answer.

My 94 Troopy does same sometimes, if it has glow plug warmers give it about 8 seconds before hitting the starter , also check that the filter hasn't got a minute leak , and yes add a bottle of Wynnes diesel Spitfire occasionally, .../ don't rev the motor until it gets the soothing effects from the tablets...lol

Yep, my 96 2.8 pajero did it too for a while.
Classic symptoms of the fuel pump seals going.
If it starts fine, the glow plugs are OK, then after a few seconds runs rough for a minute or so, possibly pump seals.
Took about 6 months (15,000k) to really develope on mine.
Got to the stage that it just about cut out after starting OK.
If it runs fine when running after a warm up, most probably it, since injectors are OK.
Otherwise, air is getting into the system some where else at rest.
Only needs to be a little bit of air.
The pump seals wear, and when the engine is not running, air gets into the system.
Check and see if you have a small fuel leak at the fuel pump, that will confirm it.
Depends how long you want to keep the car. Cheap(er) option is to just do the seals. Otherwise a full pump overhaul might be the go.
Looking at $600 to $1400.

You need to get it checked by a diesel specialist or a good mechanic who knows their diesels.

What is your fuel filter like?
Found dirty fuel clogs the filters and some gets through to the pump, increasing wear. Happened to me at 240,000k. I know run a pre filter for the fuel.

Overdoing the diesel additive doesn't help either.

Its 99% of the time a lazy glow plug and its usually the one closest to where the wire goes on to the bar that goes first. This is a classic sign. They are real easy to check. just loosen the nuts on top and slide the bar out so they are all now not interconnected. get a multi meter and put it on the 200ohm setting and cross the 2 prongs on the meter you will see the reading go to 0.00 indicating no resistance. glow plugs may have some resistance but get one prong on the threaded top and the other scratch hard into the side of the glow plug to give good contact and note the reading on each one. The one that has a much higher reading than the others is the dud one. you can either replace this one or buy a whole new set. they generally range from $18 to $30 give or take depending on the vehicle.
