Scott,
The problem might lie in what u r using to fill the tank with and the hose delivering the water from the tank to the outlet. U never elaborated on the type of taint.
I had a problem with tainting (plastic taste)in my tank and replaced all the hoses including the hose I use to fill the tank, with "drinking water" hose which is available thru any specialist hose retailer, problem solved. Hope this helps.

What has been said about the hoses is true but to get the taint out you will need to flush your tank out with clean water then refill and put in some puratabs which are readily available from most camping and caravan outlets. Let this tank stand for a few days then reflush your tank add more tabs and Bobs your uncle.
Cheers Roger.

Vanilla certainly works and agree with the others re water hoses.I've used an old publican's trick is to
flush the lines and tank with a strong lime cordial solution - it works fine but can be a bit sticky getting
the cordial into the tank.

cheers

I had a similar problem recently and fixed it by removing the tank from the camper trailer and emptying it of the contaminated plastic tasting water. I then mixed up a brew of 500gms of bi carb soda to about 30 litres of water and put it in the tank and mixed it round for a while. The next day I drained the tank and set it in the sun to completely dry out. I then fitted it to the trailer, filled it with water and its been fine ever since. Touch wood. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your replies. Whilst the camper has all the correct plumbing i must admit to using the old garden hose to fill tank. I will invest in a length of proper hose from now on. I sure after a bit of work this weekend using the above info the water out of my tank will be sweet as next time we use. Thanks again everyone this is a great forum and i have picked up lots of useful tips just reading through Cheers and hope to catch up in the bush.. Ill shout you a drink of water.....
