I finished off my drawer system a few days before we set off to this years gathering and didn't get around to uploading the pictures.
Would like to say a special thanks to member Pezza (bris) for the advice he gave me in the search for materials to make it.

Hahaha somehow I don't think I could fit in as much as you intend to Willem and not real sure it would hold up to the pounding you intend to give yours. And unless you are just on 1400mm long I don't think you could sleep in it either. lol

The fridge slide is worth every cent it was so easy to access while on the road. The drawer system was quite easy to make using 1" qubeloc and pushin fittings.

I need one of those fridge slides that drop down like that - what a great idea. Is this the TJM part or a self modified system or a little of both - I have not seen this slide arrangement before but reckon it looks the goods. So where can I get it or will I have to spend some garage time to make it up?

Hi David
This unit is sold through TJM as a complete unit but some people have found them hard to get I guess I was lucky. They work really well and with the gas filled struts are very easy to lift up even with a fridge full of drinks. If you can't sourse them through TJM over there try going through TJM in Brisbane and talk to Daniel.

Very neat, Ross!
Still intrigued how those drop-down fridge slides work. Good to see they're finally being delivered.
I like the idea of the AGMs being stowed down the back sides, esp in what would otherwise be unused space. Keeps them away from the heat of an engine bay.
Have been reading so many postings about fridges being knocked off, I have bought one of those locks like on your drawers and will fit it to the fridge slide this weekend. They'll have to wreck the drawer system to get the fridge out.
When I re-fit the system next week, I must put some pics up on my profile.
Well done!
Gerry

Hi joc45
Thanks. The fridge slide comes with its own lock and key in the front. The sad thing is if they want your fridge bad enough it wouldn't matter if you had it chained they would just keep smashing things until it came out or it was so stuffed you couldn't use it.
I will put up some more pics of the slide at different stages so people can get an idea how the work.

Brilliant!
Mine's just a simple slide-out where the Autofridge goes into a boxed-in enclosure. I have two small 12v fans at the front to push air thru when the compressor starts. The boxed-in part ensures adequate ventilation around the sides of the Autofridge. Hope to get pics up soon.

Ross,

you've mentioned one part of the fridge arrangement coming from a place in Sydney and the rest (I think) from TJM.

Can you please confirm that the whole arrangement is not available from one supplier.

And if that's the case, what were the individual pieces and did you have to join them together somehow.

Just a little more detail please mate.

cheers

Sorry guy.
Member No1 asked about the drawer slides not fridge slides.
The fridge unit is as it appears one complete unit. They weigh about 25kg so they are a bit weighty and seem to be quiet strong.

Nice work Ross, the draw face on the left is a bit out by the looks of it LOL.

The fridge slide if it is the same company where stationed in Brisbane and I beleive importing the components and assembeling them here. Many people had placed ordered when they first came out but issues arose about supply and many people waited for months to get them.

I beleive this issue has now been addressed and supply is not a problem now.

I inquired about the slide some twelve months ago and put a post on here about this slide and speaking with company they were going to have one big enough to take a trailblazer so may try and contact them and see if it is part of range now.

Thats because that was the one you were holding when I drilled it. LOL
Bloody builders cant trust them.....hehehe.

I think it was more an assembly issue than an import issue.

Yeah I know, bit slow lol, been a tad busy two wheelin round the outback throwing rocks at EO members apparently, sorry bout that Kev ! LOL.
Then lost the email notifying me of this thread.
Nice job mate, but then knowing you and your "do it right or don't do it at all" attitude I expected nothing less, :-))
No need for the mention, was only too glad to be of assistance.

Pezza,

You may have been one of the ones that actually stayed on the black stuff as I had the schites after the first dozen or so and pulled over and stopped for them. But even then some still liked to get off the black stuff to go past.

Cheers Kev
