I've always found air is the solution Matt. Perhaps it just needs more time and a bit more breeze? Otherwise just treat it as part of the character (like the red dust).

Matt,
What about an open packet of bi-carb, locked inside.
Maybe a wipe out with pure vanilla, on hard surfaces, or spray some Autocologne inside. If the smoky smell is coming from the canvas, you might need to wash it, and let it air till dry.
A smoky smell will give any future camps an authentic atmosphere, Matt, even before you've lit the fire.
Hooroo,
Bob.

Matthew, there was a post on here a few weeks back on this subject and the general consensus of opinion was that a product called "nil odour" was the bees knees for removing all manner of smells. We have not had personal experience using it, but have purchased some from the local supermarket just in case. Good luck & cheers.

Ive left it open over the weekend and it bleep down rain today, was hoping that would wash some of it away.
MAybe i need to leave it a little longer,i will try the febreeze thing and bi-carb during the week but it just hasn't got any better.
So is this not uncommon for this to happen.???

We've had serious
camp fire smoke smells in the canvas, but always cleared by itself in time (or we just got used to it).
Perhaps you have it a bit worse thaan we have had.
Just think back to the fun you had creating the problem. It won't seem as bad then.

Norm
It may clear in its own good time but was just trying to speed up the process.

I remember years ago my mum used some on a mattress..
to this day the smell still makes me throw up.
Nil odour might get rid of odours, but the product itself is not odourless!

take it to a steamstic cleaner and they can put a ozone machine in it overnight to rid the smell.
we use it to clean out fire damaged houses and works a real treat.
