Warwick Interferance with 27mhz am radios is a fact of life, ie you probably will never get rid of it all. Best to run antenna coax well away from alternators and a/c compressors and use a length of antenna coax as your power wire straight from the battery. Put the positive to the centre wire and earth to the braid and remove the excess wire fromthe back of the set.
ALL 27mhz antennas need swr checking as installation can affect them esp if you haven't got a good earth on the antenna base.
