Cold Cape

Heading for the Cape in a few weeks, we have heard it is a little chilly up there at the moment as Qld is getting hit with one of its colder winters. We want to go prepared, but not over stocked. Mainly for the benefit of us women folk of the crew, as our husbands think we are whingers. Please explain why are men hotter than women? :-) Or is it a case of positive thinking?? Jen

Thanks Voxson, We will be sleeping in our vehicle in a sleeping bag, which should be just right for us. Our daughter and hubby will have a baby and have a rooftop tent on their Cruiser which may require a little more warmth. The thing is I guess if it rains it may change, so light track suits probably won't go astray. Thanks for your help. Jen

Jen its a funny thing asking about temps because it depends were you are coming from .If you are from QLD it will feel diferent for you and it will feel diferent for voxon who is from south oz. On average for august the night time temp could get down as low as 16 or 17 even lower in the middle and days can get to around 37 on the west coast and a lower on the east coast because of the wind .
All the best

Eric, We are from Qld (west Wide Bay) where the weather is a bit cooler than the coast, but this year was a shocker with the temperature in the minuses, heavy frosts and freezing days. It even had the southerners shivering whilst up here on a (warm?) holiday. The thought of taking too many clothes just incase was a worry. Thanks for helping with your knowledge. Jen
