Is it possible to fit a PTO winch onto an 80 Series Cruiser. Some time ago I was advised it could not be done, but I recently saw an advert for an 80 Series that was for sale and listed among its accessories was a "PTO winch".

If it is possible, where might I start looking to source one?

Thanks in advance.

Jack,

Depends what gear box is in the 80 Series.

If it a GXL with constant 4WD then no. If it is a 80 Series with free wheeling hubs than a PTO can be fitted, but they are not cheap.

I think only the part time 4x4 base 80 series transmission supports a PTO.

Thank you. That was what I needed to know. Mine is a GXL with fulltime 4WD, so it is not an option. On to plan "B".

Again,thanks.

What have you got to winch it off the bark garden after giving it a wash fella?

Have a look at the Ironman winches. With your "Less is more" attitude to future trip packing, you may only need the 3.5 tonne one :-) Ha Ha.
