hey peter,
I was up there mid last year, very sparse country, a bit of cattle, a lot of birdlife through the lakes systems. Not many people ! Still very much "2 sides of town" in most
places. Goto the "other" pub (the one without the murals) in
Tibooburra and catch up with the real locals.
Cameron Corner is easy along Fort Grey? track, about 5km of pure sand along the fenceline to the corner then wide and graded gravel/dust through large properties right to Inamincka - beware of washouts across road, mark them if you cross a new unmarked one (red flag or post)
Many Lakes tracks and
camping areas around Coongie and Innamicnka may be closed or impassable if attempted too early after the wet. Coongie lakes track was closed indefinitely when I was up there in July 2001.
Pooncarrie Track is a bit rough and corrugated, most everything else is no worse than your favourite bush track to your secret
fishing spot!
Good Luck, have fun.
