Morning folks,

Here I am again, asking the gurus for more assistance!
Just bought a GME radio and need to connect the coax to a "PL259" connector.
Can anyone tell me how to connect coax to this plug?
Pics would be great.
Probably a silly question but I really have no idea.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info.

I must have assumed wrongly that my plug was a PL259.
The plug I have only has 2 parts and no holes for solder?
The coax, RG58, is a very tight fit into the body of the connector and would need to be wound into the fitting.
May have to call into a store and ask for some help.

If you're not sure then get a professional to do it for you. If you get it wrong you can damage the output stage of your radio.

From your descrition it sounds like you may have a TV antennae coax connector. These don't have a centre pin, just rely on the coax conductor sticking through.

Yep, worth doing it properly. Most UHF problems I see on trips are due to poor fitment of PL-259 plugs.
