Yamah EF1000is 1000 watt Inverter Generator

Hi All,
I live in Melbourne, does anybody know the best place to buy a 1000 watt YAMAHA Inverter Generator (EF1000is), I am ok with mail order if the price is right.

You can get the TWM, which is exact copy of the Yamaha for $279.00 from "The Tool Centre" at Carrum Downs. I have one & it is excellent, very quiet!

I dont doubt that the Yamaha copy available from 'tool centre' is a good value for money gen set, but I dont think it is an exact copy of the new ef1000i yamaha. The new yamaha uses a inverter to supply power which produces a pure sine wave which can be used to power computers and the like. The yamaha ef1000i has only been available in Australian for less than 3 months. Honda is the only other brand that also uses the inverter setup

I called Carrum Downs Tool Centre, and they said that the TWM is a 2 stroke with no Sine wave Inverter and no Auto throttle, whereas the Yamaha ef1000i is 4 stroke with Auto throttle and a Sine wave Inverter for Computers.

Interestingly the 2 stroke version is 10dba quieter than the 4 stroke.
