Cape York Feedback

Currently at Weipa on the way north and all the roads have been excellent 90kph, we are yet to see any of the famous corrugations from all reports the road all the way to the tip is quite good.

You can get lucky and do the road after is been graded - It is a highway when you get it like that. Makes you wonder why people say it can get bumpy :-)

The road gets a lot more maintenance than it used to - a bad cape road like many other roads is a thing of the past. Lockhart - Iron range road is a highway now days as well. Have fun Cheers Tony

Its all in the timing. We followed the graders in 2006, and it was like a highway

There is about 5k just south of Laura that is a little "loose and corrugated" at the moment too, and this is the WORST we have seen since heading to the TIP a month ago. Bit dusty in some places though, so keep your lights on.
The locals are saying that they have NEVER seen the roads this good, but the school hols are still to come .........

Cheers,
Peter
