Hi Annie,
The Alpine highway is general suitable for caravans; nevertheless it really does depend on the
weather. If you are trying to go up to Hotham or Falls Creek and on the day you are travelling there is snow
on the road than I would suggest not to go; however when the road is clear there should be no problem. Also be careful when you are going (which day in the week), usually now till the end of August is high season at the snow fields and therefore there is a lot of traffic (day trippers)
on the road in particular till about 10.30 in the morning and then again from 3.30 to about 5.00 pm. Hope this helps a little.
