If a XR6 ute hit aht e rear of an '08 SR5 Hilux TD who would win???

Ford Guessing 160kms
Toyota 100km on cruise control.

Some little prick stole this beautiful XR6 and rear ended my Hilux (only had it for 4 weeks) I can oly guess his speed at around the 160km mark.
I think the ford is a right off and there is $5,000 damage to my Hilux.

I have to say that the ARB rear step and tow bar stopped alot of damage to my ute.

Thanks ARB.

Just what i thought, you get a whole lotta plastic for your 40k,but then again the crumble zone worked well on the XR6...

Hope everyone is safe..

If the Ford was doing 60kph he wouldn't have caught the Hilux!

At 160kph the collision would have been 60kph.

Cant beat the ARB step bars on the hilux's. Had one on my old girl and got tapped a few times over the time of owning it but never had any damage done to mine, cant say the same for the festiva that hit it while stopped at the lights one day. Probably under 16 ?? so will get a tap on the fingers, naughty boy and be out doing it again within weeks possibly days. Thats the problem these days nothing will be done till its too late and he kills himself or some body else. Thank the doo gooders, will hurt poor Johnny if you put a boot up his clacker like he deserves. Bet your still bleep that it happened to you new lux and the poor owner of the ford who like your self will be inconvenienced due to the little turd.......Regards Steve M

The thing that bleep me off the most is that i was nice to this guy and even offered him a lift to his mates house. It has made me think twice about the type of humans that some people bring into this world, next time ( i hope i dont have a next time!) Ill sit on them until the cops come.

Sorry to see the daamge.

Don't think he was doing 160 when he hit, maybe before he braked.

This is a picture of a typhoon ford hitting a 1m dia concrete pole at 130 km/hr.
The firewall went back 100mm, and the gear box went back 150mm.
They had been doing 180 when they left the corner and well over 200 on the straight. It was in closed road rally.

Got the figures from my son woh was navigating at the time.
The full roll cage and racing seats and harnesses meant only minor injuries.

G'day Oldplodder..... but you seem to be forgetting that the hilux was doing 100k/h, so if the XR6 was doing 160k/h, then the actual collision occured @ an effective 60k/h, not 160k/h.

It is fair to say then that the damage would be much less than that suffered by the blue car doing 130k/h and hitting an im-movable object....the collision speed in that instance IS 130k/h; not 60k/h.

Cheers

Roachie

Rik, Roachie,
Yes, correction needed, if Rik was already doing 100, the ford was certainly doing more(!) than that. Sorry, didn't realise Rik was already doing 100.

Geez Rik,

I'm just glad he seems to have caught you square and not sent you spinning. Hope all OK.

Matt.

It could of been really ugly i think me ute jumped half way across to the left when he hit with shock etc i cant be too sure. Im ok just a little bleep off but the ute is being fixed by one of the best in the business so im hoping 100% in a week or so.

Yes Matt, that would have been my biggest concern too - nothing like a nudge from behind to send a car into a spin... that wouldn't end happily at 100km/h.

So the big loser in this whole thing is the owner of the ute, and now his new pride and joy will more than likely be a repairable writeoff.

Although, at least with the FG Falcon the entire front clip, radiator support panel and intrusion beam is one unit and can be replaced as such...makes for an easy(er) repair...but still, hope the turd gets some time in the sin bin for that one.
