Colson track to Alice

I am interested in taking the Colson Track from South to North coming out at the Alice, can anyone give me info on the openness of this trip, are permits required in the NT (I know about SA's Desert Pass?

My info is that Colson's tarck has been closed for some time. Permits are required and, the last time I enquired, will not be issued :(

Yes, it seems what Steve says is correct and is virtually impossible to gain entry. Permits are required as the track passes through Aboriginal lands (as well as Pastoral leases).
