Hi,

I have a Pioneer camper which has slam locks/latches on the top of the front box. They leak water pretty badly. Has anyone worked out a way to seal them?

Thanks

I'm not sure what a slam lock/latch is, but I have a battery box on the aframe which had rain water leaking through the keyhole in it's lock. I put a piece of duct tape about 3inches long over the top of it which I peel back when i need to open it. I get about 20 open and shuts out of it before I have to replace the tape. Works for me.

Sounds similar. I thought of duct tape but it would drive me insane the number of times both latches would be opened. On a similar idea, I'm thinking of gluing plastic to the top of the latch, soft enough so it still acts like a hinge.

Thanks.

It is a fault with that type of latch recomend you fill with vasaline when open this prevents them from filling up with water th only thing is the vasaline will collect dust so every now and then remove the latch put in dishwasher while the other half not looking clean them and repeat step one. The other alternate answer is ask Pioneer to replace with weather proof catches best of luck with later.
