Hi

None of the track file formats avaiable i.e.

GPX, GeoRSS, KML, GML V3, GeoJSON anf , WKT

can be use with OziCE (which is on the HN, though waypoints in GPX format ..just not tracks).

Various options - You could use Oziexplorer (PC version) to load GPX or KML and the re-save *.plt (ozi format). I am not sure if you need the registered version to do this. There are some free programs that convert GPX (etc) to Ozi track format (eg GPSBabel) so that is another option.

I would also notify Exploroz crew that Ozi plt format would be nice for all the OziCE users out there (though suspect most have Ozi PC as well). OziCE could also do with GPX track support to catch up with the competition so may send a suggestion to developers to that effect.

Thanks Greg I will attend to this - I have the software written I just have to format the download to support the files - I need to delivery two files in one download and this is not as easy as it could be - I guess I will have to zip them together once the download is generated and send them out. I will investigate this ASAP.

Greg - The mapping system now supports downloading of the data to OziExplorer format and provides a zip file with the .plt and .wpt files attached according to what downloads are requested.

I have a little more work to do to make it show the speed of travel (ie: increase the data/time values to make the system think it has been recorded from a gps system) however it has been tested with places, treks, driving directions and you can even have several driving directions, places and treks on the map at the same time and use the My Plans function to download the whole lot in one go.

Enjoy.

If you are down loading Plot File treks from this site they are already in *.plt file format and will load onto and run on any version of OziEplorer PC or CE.

You just have to open it in Ozie ce file track import track trail from file and it will open it to the map you have open.

go to view/toolbars click track toolbar and you will be able to do what ever you want with it.

I don't have a Hema Nav but have OziExplorerCE V2.32 on a HP 212 PDA.

Well there you go...Looks like there a two ways of downloading a trek, though my research has been limited.

If you go to the Trek page and click on a trek listed in the trek search box (under the map of Aus) you are presented with an option to download the trek only in GPX ect. (no *.plt). If however you click on the map, near a purple highlighted track, on the left you are shown a list of "USER TREKS FOUND" in the area. Click on one of these and you get the option to download an Ozi plt, wpt file and/or a Ozi Map file.

Not sure if all treks are available in all formats or what..bit confusing but have never used it much. Maybe someone else will enlighten us all.

Well I'll be.. I have never seen that before ever, I have always done it the other way from Plot swap section. as I would say 95% of the trek's on this site are loaded by the users of the site rather than the owners (I don't see them thank or recognize them anywhere for this, but that another story) the file starts out as a plt file and now they must have started using the GPX format as it is more universal, and with a converter can be changed to what ever.

Travelmate - just to clear up your assumptions our submitters of treks are not only recognised as the writer in the header of the page they are paid for the submissions, you can see who provided what by looking at the Article By: line in the header of the trek note. If you are keen to contribute to the system simply contact Damian in the office and he will point you at the documentation related to submitting trek notes.

As Greg mentioned above use GPX but this appears to have a problem with the HN - I will attend to this tomorrow and correct the system to support .plt & .wpt file downloads from the mapping system.
