You're right Royce. The loonies love that sort of story, the roo was probably only waiting by his body for a hand out!
I must admit though I'm not a great fan of the live sheep exports when they can be rejected by the importers on what seem to be pathetic reasons.
I bet most livestock in their own countries are in a darn sight worse condition.
They used to slaughter sheep for export at Wooroloo WA about 25 years ago and had a couple of arabs doing the throat slitting. They must have had the bluntest knives around and didn't pay much attention to the teachings of the Koran when there was no one to keep their eyes on them!
Of course, the gossip about their lives outside the abbottoir may have just been malicious.
I don't like to see cruelty to any animal or bird, but I reckon shooting is the least cruel, as at least the animal (if it's done properly) doesn't know it's going to get killed, but then that's impratical for the amount of beasts we need to eat.
No doubt that would upset the rabid animal rights friends of the furred and feathered but I doubt if there's too many of them reading this
