Wondering if anyone has had any experience with TJM suspension? Tossing up whether to go for Rancho, Tough Dog or TJM for Rodeo dual cab.

I've had TJM on the troopy for about 140000kms now,

Bent a shocky last weekend on a rough landing (oops), so have now replaced the front shocks.

The springs had not sagged in that time,

I have had no complaints using TJM suspension.

I had XGS and Series 2000 on the GQ.

Was good for the price, a little harsh, but very good value.

Its now on another GQ, only cause I went higher. I would have it again.

There are way too many options on suspensino these days.

Old Man Emu Kit is also worth checking out. I'd go OME before Tough Dog! ALso OME over Rancho, and I run Rancho now.

Are you just talking about the shockies or the whole lot? Can't comment on TJM springs. I'm surprised by Truckster's comments on the Rancho's - I'd only previously heard good reports about them. Tough Dog I haven't had any experience with. TJM are a budget item but quite acceptable. The Series 2000 are smaller than the XGS and the ride is a bit softer. The XGS's are very firm on my 80 series - but they seem to last OK. If you want TJM units try shopping for them at a Don Kyatt outlet - in Qld (go by the name of Sunshine State 4WD) they sell the same thing but a bit cheaper. I assume it's the same deal in other states.

Don Kyatt sell a range of improved suspension called Terrain Tamers - the shocks come from the same Brazilian factory (reputedly the largest shock manufacturers in the world) as TJM. I run them on my Prado - shocks & springs - and have no complaints.

I went for a 25% increase in spring rates ... with hindsight I should have gone for 35%, although ride may have been too harsh unladen.

Hey Davo,
I have the TJM XGS suspension on my 2002 challenger, and another mate has them on his patrol. I find them great, but my mate has easily done about 150,000km on his patrol and hasn't had any problems what so ever. And I have been on some pretty rough tracks in his patrol before I brought my 4wd. I would highly recomend them. Two of my other mates have OME

Try "Ridepro" - they seem to be well manufactured & heavier construction (not stiffer, just bigger bores, greater diameter piston rods etc)than TJM 's XGS shockers, at a cheaper price.

I've only had them on for short distance, but in some serious workouts they have been good. I have them mated with TJM coils.

Cheers
