Hi All

I remember watching these docos as a kid in the early 90's, and the impression they left made me love travelling, 4wds and exploring this country. I was wondering if these vidoes are available anywhere. These were classic docos and i want copies of them.

Thanks

Benna,

I'm sure you could get a copy of the World Safari video's somewhere. Try doing a Google search and see what comes up. I've tried in the past to get Malcolm Douglas doco's and after much searching was advised to contact his Broome Crocodile Park and ask them there. Never followed it up though. If you have any luck, I'd love to here about it.

I second that opinion. The Leylands was a must see every week, and if it were not for programs like them, i believe most aussies still wouldnt know about our great backyard.

I was a kid in the early sixties, what are you lot trying to do to me. There are people around here who would argue that I still haven't grown up so I suppose I could say I was a kid in the 50's,60's70's80's90's&00's. Trouble is in years to come I probably will go back there.Al Symers

Hi Mrs Al,
The sandpit is clean and you can come and play in it anytime you like.
Had a good day on your side of the border today. The Sunset country is looking good. Nearly ended up un Mildura but figured dodging the roos on the way home wasn't worth it. Called into the Werrimul pub for a thirsty and just after we left there, had to evade a couple on the road and I swear I only had one drink. Al Symers

In 1955, Keith Adams from WA had a trip up north to the gulf with his wife & sister in an old Buick. During the trip they took footage to produce a film called Northern Safari. The video gives a very good impression on how things were done in the good old days with lots of fishing and shooting. The video and a book called Crocodile Man Safari are available from Keith Adams, 13 Rinaldi Cr, Karrinyup, WA 6018, Ph 08 9341 1944 for around $57.60. I strongly recommend both of the above items.

Have to agree Tusker. This was truly an epic trip and I reckon Keith Adams was just about the father of outback adventure travel. Mind you, when you see the video and/or read the book you gotta wonder how they actually survived unscathed. For those who haven't seen it though, we warned that the attitudes displayed towards wildlife in this video reflect the times it was made back in 1955. These days, it would leave most of us shaking our heads in disgust. But apart from that, a top video!
