Think Bonz is right. My 4.2 TurboIntercooled is already fiited with one. Really only need that if you have a PTO drive for anything or perhaps for the low range box. Cruise control is much more useful

Dont pull the throttle control on whilst driving, mine broke when i pulled it on, and got stuck on full revs. Not Good!!

My 3.0 now has one! I filtched a 4.2 hand controller from a wreck. I made up a cable to take the input to the hand controller down the throttle actuator mounted on the floor, wrapping it around the wire bail, the same as the existing throttle does.

This works like a treat and gives me revs up to 1500 RPM. I use mine in the freezing Canberra mornings to heat up the car/transmission, by starting the truck, selecting N on the t-case and putting the car into 3rd.

On the turbo-timer the truck will run for 10 minutes and then re-imobilise. Nice!

G'day
I recently had an autron auscruise cruise control fitted which could be used as a hand throttle. This is done by putting it in test mode, ie hold the top (set/acc) button down while you turn on the ignition. Then, turn it on and use the acc and dec buttons to adjust revs. Press cruise off to quickly go to idle.
cheers
