cargo blinds

Highlands

We are researching the purchase of our first 4WD. We are attracted to the Pajero or Prado. Because we will use the 4WD to take us to the city often for visiting our clients we will be carrying equipment with us that we would not want to have visible in the cargo area. However, the Pajero and Prado don't come with the possibility of adding a cargo blind. We were wondering if anyone has found a way to solve this issue. Many thanks for any advice.

How about some coloured contact like the stuff you cover school books with. That will stick and is a cheap option. Wouls look ok as you would probably be able to get a colour matching you vehicle.

You may find something to suit from a Magna or Verada.
My in-laws have one of those roller type things in their Verada station wagon which looks like it could do the job. Mounting it, of course, is the challenge.
Apart from what is suggested here ... a blanket????

If the goods you require arent to bulky you can get lids which cover the storage section behind the rear passenger seat .They sit level with the top of the seat .

The lids I mentioned are actually false floors under which there are shelves on rollers.I have seen this type of flooring installed higher up to form a lid with/without the shelving.The lids are covered with a greyish carpet and I have seen them at 4wd accessory shops,"Just 4x4" mags and 4wd displays.I think there are a number of companies doing this kind of thing but their names escape me.

If you buy the pajero just remove the third seat and you have an 85 litre storage spoace under the floor with a solid lid. Alternatively rig a roller blind from a Magna I'm fairly sure it will fit. You can mount this on your cargo barrier. The Paj has one of the best factory cargo barrier offerings as it has a lexan window for access from the rear seat - brilliant.

I parked in a Sydney city carpark next to a Camry stationwagon with a blind fitted. I was in my Pajero at the time. When I returned someone had smashed through the rear window and the blind pulled aside.

I don't know if anything was stolen, but the damage was done. Fortunately my car, with nothing in the back, wasn't touched.
