Kamp-Rite Tent Cots Any info please

We bought a couple for our upcoming trip, a Double and the Oversize single.

I plan to use a fold up foamy Ive had for a few years in the double and nothing in the single. The reason the double gets the foamy is that there is a bar the runs the length of the cot down the centre and i suspect that could get uncomfortable.

I usually use a camp stretcher and swag so this looked like the same but with a roof and walls..lol.

As usual didn't bother to read the instructions and found they were easy to put up take down.

They come with a robust bag to live in and a fly sheet if it looks like rain.

My only other comment at this stage is that they are not as light as a stretcher/swag combo.

Time will tell but they look pretty good atm and having screens on all openings will make for a nice airy sleep.

Look on the web a guy in Africa uses one on his roof rack as a roof top tent.

Make sure you open ends or sides to let air circulate or you'll think its raining inside. first time i used one the condensation on the roof was enormous,it was in the winter so had every flap shut but only for the first night. They would be good is they had a couple of eyelets in the end flaps so they could be anchored to pegs to stop them flapping. just use a self-inflating mattress and a sleeping bag in mine.

I have two doubles one for both of my teenage kids, so they can bring a friend if they want to and for when i go on a boys weekend for me and my gear.
I find them great I just put the foam from a fold up bed in it although my son goes without, the only draw back is it's size when folded up it is rather large. Other than that I love them although not as good as the caravan.
