This seems to be a short cut from the Dunmarra on the Stuart Highway to
Timber Creek and then on to
Kununurra. Has anyone travelled this road recently and can give information on the road condition.

Hi Trevor, this is part of a friend's travel blog sent to me. The post date was 29 May 2010.
It Reads:
"Next day we headed up to the gravel road called the Buchanan Hwy which goes from Dunmarra to Top Springs then across to
Timber Creek. The dirt road was fantastic and actually better than the bitumen. We travelled on the dirt for about and hour then found a gravel quarry and decided to
bush camp. The sunset was great although rain clouds seemed to be building. During the night we had some heavy rain and when we got up the next morning everything was wet and the dirt had turned into mud which made an interesting pack up with red mud caked onto the bottom of our shoes like…mud cakes! But we got out of the bog and the road was still ok although there was a few boggy holes along the way. The country again was so green and the creeks were all running. We came up behind some drovers moving a mob of cattle to the next paddock so got to watch the stockmen in action. It was great to see they are still using horses and not trail bikes all the time."
Hope this helps.
We travelled the Buchanan H'way in 2006 and we really enjoyed it. We will do it again............
Cheers
Mish.
