Hi Graham & Ann
I am a resident of
Doomadgee so the information should be OK.
Doomadgee Roadhouse is open, 9 - 5 weekdays, Saturday 9 - 1 & now open Sundays, I think 9 -3.
Sells diesel, Opal, drinks, I/cream, some groceries, some fishing gear, some oils & stuff & a bit of hot food.
Also Tirrana Roadhouse at
Gregory crossing (70k NE of
Doomadgee) is open 7 days not sure of hours. sells unleaded
Hell's
gate is open again (85k W of
Doomadgee) 7 days I think, haven't been up there for a few months. Sells unleaded.
BTW the truckies tell me the road west of the NT/QLD boarder is in pretty bad shape, rough & going to bull dust.

We came through
Doomadgee just over 2 weeks ago and bought fuel at the Roadhouse,
Toilets were clean and staff were very pleasant. Paid $1.76/L for ULP but stayed at Hells
Gate and they were closer to the $2 mark - great place for an overnight stop though.

Thanks for the
feedback djross-oz, looks like we should consider fuel up at
Doomadgee and
camp at Hells
Gate.
