2nd battery rodeo diesel

Rodeo rider

Anyone had any luck fitting a battery tray and battery under the bonnet of a turbo diesel rodeo dual cab, generally to run a 12 volt fridge, and as a spare and for 8,000lb winch. Currently running a single Overlander 700CCA battery which is fine, and alternator giving 80 AMPS.
Any ideas appreciated, thanks.

I am looking into it also. Go to this site, www.piranhaoffroad.com.au, where they have kits for virtually all 4WD's. Shows photo's of where to position battery, also battery size. A useful starting point, but I am going to talk to my friendly auto electrician first. I know he has helped others wire up a system cheaply and effectively, will let you know.

rodeo rider i have a second battery installed in my rodeo which was done by arb they have mounted it on the passenger side at the rear of the engine bay but they had to use one of those new oddesy batteries all for about $8oo

rodeo rider i have fitted a 10 inch 80 amp hr second battery. passenger side corner next to the fire wall. the aircon pipe can be gently bent to give enough room also rotate the deisel primer/filter 90 deg part of the bracket may have
to be cut.did this my self sounds cheap and nasty
but i am very fussy with the mechanics of my vehicle battery,leads,batterytray,manual isolater

Martin is spot on. I did the same with a slightly smaller battery, around a 65 amp/hr battery, and to date has been working great. Passenger side location rework varies with the model Redeo that you have. The only part that I reworked was the aircon pipe which I couldn't bend enough, so I had to redo the pipe. I've used a fridge/freezer & ran lights from same on over nights camps without any dramas. The battery isolation solenoid is the essential bit. Also as martin mentioned the cost is a whole lot cheaper doing it yourself then these bought jobs. Doesn't really take that much. I'm also interested about your shower. My missus would love that idea & it might stop some of her whinging when we camp in the scrub next time.
