Bruce, regarding your door lock problem, these are the "FACTS". I work for a Ford dealership in
Melbourne, you need to replace full set of actuators if the existing actuators are not compatable with current new stocks, that will depend on build date of your vehicle or whether or not they have been replaced previously,(which is very possible as this is a known concern),otherwise only the problem actuator has to be replaced (assuming that can be determined).Having said all of that believe it or not Ford are still running an extension of warranty on "cycling actuator problems (unless something has changed in last 2-3 weeks) on EF and EL regardless of whether you are the original owner of the vehicle or not.,unfortunately some dealers are genuinly not aware of the re-introduction of this program some time ago.If a new set of actuators is required or if it is one required it should be covered by warranty . Suggest you contact Ford customer relations centre on phone 133673 (
melbourne) for further clarification. I will be interested to hear of your response and will be happy to advise further if necessary.

Thanks for that reply Frank ..pity the bloke at customer relations at Ford could not have been a bit more civil or helpfull...no there is no extended warranty ...apparently I do have to purchase a complete new full set ... from Ford of course...and no I cannot use a used set from another vehicle , oh well I will keep looking for options as i do not like the idea of parting with $600 just to lock the doors normally...they still lock it is just that one has to be patient and stand there looking like a dill turning the key untill the system decides to lock , ..usually after about 7 or 8 trys...there must be another way of doing it...cheers
