Hilux Lift

G'day, I'm considering a 2" lift for my 2003 Dual Cab Hilux. I've been informed by Roads ACT that in Canberra, I would be required to get an engineering certificate for any lift. I was wondering if it is the same in other States/Territories?

Cheers,
Ray

Hilux's have a small reputation for roll over problems, actually around my area they are called Rollux's' (sorry Toyota). Lifting them higher will affect the overall stability of the vehicle. You have to ask yourself will the extra height gain any REAL advantage in the bush for YOU?, or will it just look good?

I was told the same but I find it hard to belive that an engineer would put his name to something more dangerous, unstable going to do the same enyway no plates left on the bottom of the patrol time to move upgu bush basha

Not in Vic. 50mm is considered ok. Any more and you would require a engineers.

Try speaking to someone else at roads ACT. You will probably get a totally different view.

I wonder if they are not grtting confused with a 2" body lift and not a 'suspensoin change' that will lift 2" unladen but come back to almost normal when loaded. Try that
