Murray Crossing at Tom Groggin

Hi all.
Can anyone please tell me if there there is an alternative crossing to the Murray at Tom Groggin other than the ford.
Reason for my question is I will be in the area March - April this year and I need to be certain of getting across to the Alpine Way to get someone to Canberra on a fairly tight time frame. If I get there and can't ford the Murray it will a real problem for him if we have to back track.

The station was happy to let us cross earlier this year. They appreciated the phone call and were pretty relaxed about it, they didn’t require us to call in at the homestead, just give them a quick call on UHF 12 to say g’day. I reckon it would be good to give them a call in advance.

Hello Ken,

We crossed the Tom Groggin crossing yesterday, it is about 40cm deep and it is in good order. Unfortunately the Daly Plains track was closed due to storm damage but a dog trapper in the area mentioned that it should be opend again shortly.Tom Groggin track was open.
We went up to Mt Pinnabar which is an excellent drive and outstanding views across the Snowy including Kosiosko, I really recommend the detour from Tom Goggin camping area to do the tripto Mt Pinnabar, it takes about an hour to get there one way. Quite steep but no major problems.

Many thanks for this Will. At that level the crossing will not be a problem, just covering all bases if there is rain closer to my trip time.
