Prado Duel Battery

I have a 1996 Prado GXL V6 Petrol. I currently have a duel battery side by set up at the moment which i had to remove. I removed it because the tray rubbed on the wiring loom (stuffing it completely)which comes from the main fuse box.
I attended the Kalgoolie Gymkhana last year and saw a Prado V6 Petrol with the Duel battery set up. It had the auxillery battery set in place where the charcoal box sits. The charaol box sits on the side of the battery tray. This is what i want to get done to my Prado as the battery that can be fitted is much larger. (80p amp hour)
I have asked around everywhere, ARB, Opposite Lock, TJM & Offroad Equipment who say they cant do it. Someone in Perth does do it. Because i have seen it done. Can anyone help me find where in Perth it could be done.
Also, would the auxillary battery tray for Turbo Deisel model fit into the V6 petrol.

Any help would be great.

I have a 2.7RV Prado and my friend has the 3.4 GXL we both have the duel battery set-up as you decribed wher the charcoal canister was required to be move to fit the battery tray. They are made by Brown Davis and sold through TJM. As I live i Sydney I don't know who sells them in Perth, but they are available and have been around since mid 1998 at least when we fitted ours. I don't think the Turbo Desiel tray will fit as it is mounted behind the headlight on the drivers side ( from memory). The tray has al the holes for fotting it to the side of the car where the charcoal cannisteer was removed and then fitted to the side of the battery tray. There is a requirement to extend some of the hoses that connect the charcoal cannister. This was all provided in the Piranha kit that TJM supplied. I hope this helps you. I have a petrol GXL, and I bought a dual battery kit from Opposite Lock about two years ago. The battery cradle mounts on the LH inner guard, where the charcoal canister ussually sits. The battery cradle has fittings to take the canisters mounting bracket.
The cradle was made by "Bushranger". I have a marine deep cycle battery (to run fridge). It is 90 ah.

My buisiness partner owns a 3.4 prado petrol and we fitted a dual battery system to it which was brought from 4WD systems in south australia(www.4WDsystems.com.au).This system you have to move the charcoal canister but come supplied with all hoses and all clamps and all instructions.It was very easy to install. Hope this information helps you.

Rob, I got from Opposite Lock in Midland at 201 Great Eastern Highway. I got it at trade price $90 for saying i was a member of a 4wd club.

one last question. I'll assume that you put a larger 12"inch deep cycle battery in the front and moved the orginal cranking battery to the rear (in the new tray). What type and amp hour deep cycle battery did you go with ? I've been quoted a 75ah... seems a bit small for a large 12" battery.
