fridge lids

Does anyone else have trouble keeping the lid of their Engel on with out sliding it off? I don't know if it's the position on the drivers side in the back & sometimes too lazy to open the smaller rear door or if the wife & kids are just careless, but it seems to come off too often. Half the time I tend to stop on an angel which promotes this happening. Fed up with putting it back on at least once a trip, I've now put a cable tie on one hinge which is easily removeable. Works perfect, don't know why I didn't do it earlier.

Cheers

Bloody thing drove me batty (or battier than normal at least) and now I have a cable tie on mine as well. I took a long time to think of doing it too. A good tip for fellow sufferers like us.

Mine is an Engel 60 and the lid slides off the pins in the hinge until the cable tie.

Ive had an engel for years, the old type and the lid stays on fine . However the new models have that problem, you would think that the engel engineers would do better. At least they should revise the hinge. Seems that the no care were good syndrome has set in.Dodg

If you keep stopping on "angels" Jackablue, anything can happen!!!
My 60 litre has a prob. with the lid moving out of line and being a pig to shut properly, so maybe your solution will help there.
I'll try it the next time I'm allowed to get out the office for a while.

I put 2 strips of 50 mm wide gaffa tape over the hinge from top to side. It just stops it from moving sideways. Where do you put the cable tie?
