Unbelievable Hilux prices

Thought I might trade up to a newer model and several yrads showed me 1 to 2 year old with old to 40K on the clock and they were all asking 35K for a bleep box up to 45K for a primo example. Trouble is toyota will sell me a brand new turbo std version for 38K on the road without even haggle.. If it were you of me asking for a trade in valuation they would tell us that you dont get any money for accessories.
They wouldn't have double standards at all with their pricing would they.

38k thats not for the SR5 is it? My best quote for the hilux with a fleet discount was about $42000 for the SR5. I liked the Navara STR better...No doubt toyotas are overpriced, always have been. They also hold their value as well, always have done. Service prices are a tad dear as well.

Got a quote for a new hilux 3.0td dual cab with air, otherwise standard two weeks ago for $36750 drive away with 12 months rego.

Might get one at the government auctions though, going for 30-31k with some extras... bullbar etc & around 40,000 on the clock.

Haven't started to haggle yet, where did you get the 36K price from if you don't mind.
I want the base model becauseit's easier to clean the vinyl floor especially after a water crossing. besides It's what I got now and I don't need bells and whistles.

I went through this 6 months ago and decided to spend the little extra on the new Turbo Diesel lux. It was only a difference of about 5K which also meant that I did not inherit someone else's problem and would know the full history of the veh.
I had always been a believer that I would not buy a new 4WD knowing what I do to them out scrub but as there was a neglible price difference and the extra quality of a new vehicle, I decided on a new one.
