Pottsee, I'm not sure of the legality of those in
Tasmania.
The most important problem you have, is what does your insurance company say? My experience has been, if the tyre and rim size combination is not on the tyre placcard fixed to the inside edge of the drivers door then you may run into problems with insurance companies. Contact your insurance company, ask them the question, and under ALL circumstances, get their response in writing. If you get nothing back in writing you WILL be up the proverbial creek in the event of a claim!
You can bet that the insurance company will have all the relevant legislation covering
Australia. I believe there are now national regulations on tyre/rim combinations.
Hope this helps, Cheers!

I have been through the tyre exercise in Tassie. My insurance co. (AAMI), are fine with any tyre/wheel modifications as long as they are road legal. The law in Tassie says you may fit any wheel as long as it is maximum 1" wider than the largest standard wheel available for your vehicle. There are no limitations on overall diameter of wheels or
tyres, or tyre width, as long as the tyre fits the wheel.
Cheers.
