Hi,
Can anyone give me some clues on replacing the electric element in a Swift 500 Series stove ? It is installed in our Paramount van. It stated to play up a while back and no doesn't heat up at all. The Swift has 3 gas and 1 electric element.

Thanks

In our caravan we had the same problem and our stove had never been used.If your stove has a lid so when shut gives more bench space, the problem is that there is an electric cut-out switch that when the lid is shut the electric element cannot be used for safety reasons. The solution is to lift the lid and make sure you hear a click sound then turn on the element,it should heat up if it does not then you have a problem with element.Try this first and if it works you will save yourself some money, just remember to listen for the saftey switch.

Hi gqturbo,

Funny about that !!! I checked out the plug and it did appear to be a bit suspect. It is always the simple thing that catch you out. Will now wait and see if it is fixed.

Thanks

Hi GeeTee, Just bear in mind that you are fooling with 240 Volts. Screw up on it and you could become a "well-done" piece of meat!

Cheers
