This is how I do it. You have your sim on global roaming, place it in sat phone and turn on. You need to be outside of a building to connect with satellite, then press 0 and hold until + appears. Then enter the number you are calling starting with 61 you leave out the 0 from the state prefix, then enter the prefix number and the rest of your number. For example if you are calling a land line number in NSW which is 02 99999999, you would need to dial +61299999999, and for mobile number it is the same that is - do the + thing then 61 and just leave out the 0 at the start of the mobile number.
