For those people interested in submitting header images for the top of the site I thought I would post up the basic specifications. It is harder then you may think to get these right. Of course the image can be made up of a collage of images or a few panoramic but the specifications are basically:

The height must be 135 pixels
The width of the image should be between 2000 - 3000 pixels

If you happen to have 360 deg panoramic shots then the width specification is less important because when the image is joined it will be seamless (that is what some of the new 360 deg images do they start and end at the same place thus appear seamless). In this case they can be smaller in width but MUST be greater than 1000 pixels.

If none of this makes sense then it may be best for you not to consider trying this out but if you have some idea and want to have a go then please feel free to email them in and you may one day connect to the site and see your header image rolling around.

Just figured out if you hold your mouse pointer on the header it freezes and brings up some of the properties. Thanks David, nicely done and great to watch.
Cheers, Bob.

Bob,

Ah yes thanks forgot to mention that. Just mouse over the image and it will give you basic information about the location and submitter (if we have it).

Yes they are nice and freshen up the place. Currently 20 loaded so get a different one for at least 20 days. Enjoy.

Thanks
David
