camper trailers

emma

Is independent suspension the way to go or heavy duty leaf spring with shockers.
Mixed replies from dealers - we are not in the kimberly camper or track shack price range but can afford to custom build trailer.
SOuthern cross camper kit seems to suit us but should we modify the trailer to independent susp?

Joe thanks for the advice.
We have a NIssan GQ patrol and are planning to head to WA for about10 weeks. The whole reason for the trailer is to abandon our freedom base tent and use a tent/trailer combo. We have the info about sugar glider. So thanks. Wish us luck.

Emma. I have a custom built trailer with heavy duty leaf springs With greaseable shackle pins. The trailrer has been towed up the cape and across the simpson many times with few problems. You can buy leaf springs almost any where in Australia.Shockers are a good idea to help the cargo ride a bit smoother. Also you can fit a spare leaf spring underneath the trailer on pins which is very handy.
