whats needed to use batteries to do emergency welding and how do u set it up. any info appreciated.

You'l need 2 sets of jumper leads for 2 batteries and 3 for three, some relatively small welding rods and some glass out of a welding mask. Join the batteries in series. Connect the negative lead to the Job and fit the rod into the positive and away you go. Ther are a couple of magazines featuring articles on the subbject including one that I wrote in the Western 4wdriver. Other mags wher 4x4 Australia & 4wd Monthly. Good Luck

3 batteries id the go, about 38 amps (near to 240v welder) is produced dependednt on batteries. beware without amperage/voltage regulators things can happen pretty sporadically on the weld line.
