Me Again,
Am on the way towards sorting out the DVD thing, the next question I need help with is this: Has anyone fitted or tried to fit 6" round speakers into the two back wagon doors of a GU Patrol. All the one's I have looked at have speakers in each of the passenger doors, but me being difficult, I would rather add cup holders/map pockets on the rear
seat doors and fit speakers into the rear of the wagon area.
Any expertise??

saw some a couple of years ago in the sound comp. at the summernats. had a similar arrangement many, many years ago when i was panel vanning around the place - built them myself - also little lights and things (it was ok back then - at least no lighhts under the car). jeep has an overhead 'soundbar' settup for its wrangler. i don't know which state you are in but the strathfield people in wa have the speakers (so does every other sound
shop i guess) and wiring and it isn't a difficult job. build it out of ply with aly framework and attach to the body above the doors. maybe have a look around for an o'head radio settup for the front and modify.
mine are in the back doors and have had no problems yet (been there for 10yrs - replaced 3yrs ago). when loaded just crank the volume a bit and it's ok. kids used to complain but they use their own discmans and headphones now so it doesn't matter anymore. won't fit a dvd if i can't watch it as
well. anyway portable dvd players are under $300 (again strathfield -
perth) so maybe just get a couple for the kids and one to sit up on the dash in front of me (irresponsible - hell no). rgds
