when I crossed the simpson on the rig rd in september 98 we were the first cars through the warburton track for about six months as it had been under water we all towed trailers and despite the track being pretty rough we had no trouble at all. we did however have a visit from the local policeman in birdsville when he had heard we came that route but he just wanted a track update himself
