Put BFG 265/75/16 AT's on my GU prior to tackling the Cape in 2001. Fitted in July 2001 at 64000Kms - now have 119000Kms and they are still going strong. They have done about 60/40 black top/off road and have proven to be very good in all sorts of conditions. I will be getting a new set of the same before heading back to explore more of Cape York in Jul/Aug 2004.
Cheers

I have had the identical tyre on my patrol for about 30k.Generally I found them to be a very good tyre.Where the tiny sipes exit the tread block is an area I found to be prone to chipping out.This meant that on rocky roads I would lose tiny 4 mm sections from the tread where it flexed excessively on a sipe exit.I have just traded the BFG's on Cooper ST's which have a different sipe arrangement in that all the grooves are internal so in theory there is less flexion on the exposed lug edges.
Coopers are a tad nosier but not much and seem to give better steering feel.

I put a set of these on my GU back in 2000 at 33000kms just before going to the cape.
I now have just over 140000kms and they still have three mm of thread.

Aprox 50/50% dirt bitumen.

I already have another set now as these (although OK for bitumen they are not OK for off road work).

As soon as these Bridgestones wear out on my new 4.2, i'll be getting another set of a/t bfg's, 265/ 75/16's SO MUCH FOR COOPERS 80,000 GUARANTEE!!!! regards. Michael

Hi Andrew
I also had bfg's on my Patrol GU and managed 76,000 k's before replacing them.
They were KO's and went to the Cape , Taz, Gib River, Mitchell Plateu and to various off road venues. They also towed an off road van for 30,000 k's of this and when traded for a new set of the same I estimated that there was at least another 10,000 K's left however not enough for towing back from Perth to the east via many gravel roads and tracks. In short they were great. The new set has now done 10,000 K's and has not worn the pips off yet, yes and this was towing also.

Yes they are definatly available in this size.
I do not know what the KO stands for.
Reading off the sidewall...265/75/R16 KO 120/116 S. Load D.
265 = Section width in MM/
75 = Aspect Ratio as %.
120/116 = Load rating = 1200kg or D.
S = Speed Rating in this case max 180 kph.
D = Load rating as above.
I think you will find this pretty close to the mark.
These explanations were posted in a recent edition of 4wd monthly.
