Description of Boggy Hole
About 35km south of
Hermannsburg and 3 hours return with lots of photo stops and a cuppa. The Finke riverbed varies from hard packed gravel with an obvious track to shorter sections of loose gravel and sandy sections. Only needed 4WD high range -just in case- in the sand. The rest is 2WD. But this was in April 09 when 5 months worth of traffic had made it an easy and fun drive. In one particularly dusty portion the windows should be wound up before attempting the shortcut!!
