Description of Gulargambone
Gulargambone is a small town located on the Castlereagh River and the Castlereagh Highway. It is a very attractive town - having won the NSW Tidy Towns Award in 2004. The area was once occupied by the Wiradjuri people, and then subsequently taken up by George Tailby in around 1840. Gulargambone has a population of around 500, and services the surrounding farming and grazing areas as well as catering to passing tourists.
