Description of Mungindi
Mungindi is a town of approx. 700 people on the NSW/QLD border in the Moree Plains Shire. Mungindi is the only border town in the Southern hemisphere with the same name on both sides of the border. The border itself is the Barwon River which separates the town, most people take the centre of the bridge as being the border although no marker point exists. Mungindi is on the

Carnarvon Highway is the site of an old wine shanty.
