Description of Mersey Bluff
Mersey Bluff is a popular section of the foreshore coastline on the west bank of the
Mersey River that jutts out into Bass Strait. Adorned by a lighthouse built in 1889 to direct the colony's rapidly growing sea traffic, the beam of the historic Bluff lighthouse is visible up to 27km out to sea. Nearby Bluff Beach and playground area incorporates picnic and bbq areas and safe swimming.
