Description of Kunawarritji Community
Kunawarrijtji is a thriving modern aboriginal community. It is a modern example of the new and growing breed of aboriginal communities run by white management that have embraced tourism. The store is stocked with supplies for tourists including a variety of frozen meats, fresh fruit, vegetables and the usual assortment of tins and packets, frozen bread, icy poles and toiletries.
The community offers
camping,
accommodation, a workshop and a community office with some local merchandise. There is also a new store being built. An enormous amount of fuel is available - ULP and diesel. No spares, but regular truck and plane transport can be arranged for emergency requirements.

Canning Stock Route
The Canning Stock Route is a long-distance remote stretch of track through the Gibson and Great Sandy Deserts. No longer in use as a stock route this is now a vehicular track allowing access to the wells constructed as stock watering holes.
